Who Needs the Democratic Party When We Have Dr. Jill Stein

Party Unity My Ass or PUMA, is a name that Hillary Clinton’s supporters came up with during the 2008 presidential nomination process. They sited the fact that Barack Obama took money from Wall Street and called them racists, as reasons why they would not unite behind President Obama.  Many declared they would vote for John McCain or write in Hillary’s name, most did not.


The only thing Hillary Clinton inspires people to do, is to consider other candidates.


Now you might be tempted to think, that means Bernie Sanders’ #BernieOrBust supporters will fall in line just like the PUMAs did. While that normally is the case, in this instance however one must consider a very large problem. Hillary is universally despised. The reason Bernie Sanders’ supporters will not be falling in line, is because unlike Barack Obama, Hillary has historically low favorability ratings. Obama was a young fresh face fighting to bring hope back to America. Hillary’s the political equivalent of Eeyore, if Eeyore stole all the honey in Pooh Corner and decided to only share it with the elite donkey class. The only thing Hillary Clinton inspires people to do, is to consider other candidates.

The Democratic Party is overestimating the value of their tarnished brand.


The #BernieOrBust movement will be looking for another candidate come November. TheGreen Party’s presidential nominee Dr. Jill Stein, offers the disenfranchised Bernie supporters a ready made progressive candidate of their dreams. Stein’s policies and beliefs are just as voter friendly as Bernie Sanders’ policies. The one thing that Jill Stein offers Bernie Sanders’ supporters that should scare the DNC; is an opportunity to wrap themselves into a new party; that they can help define. The Sanders supporters who will not fall into the fold, will likely blame the DNC for their role in rigging the nomination and the economy. The Democrats would be wise not to spit in the face of the future of their party, particularly when such a great candidate like Dr. Jill Stein is waiting in the wings.
